2007 – Mitsu Outlander XLS – reliable or look somewhere else?
Looking at getting a smaller SUV for my wife and 2 kids (3 & 6) so I need to fit a car & booster seat in the rear.
I am looking for an all round SUV for skiing, travelling, some off-roading (logging roads), pulling a fishing boat.
I am looking at Honda CR-V, Toyota Rav 4, Hyundai Santa Fe, Mistubishi Outlander & 07 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4 door.
I am looking for safety, fuel economy, reliablitity, comfort, good fun factor & capable for some off-road activities (not hardcore) have a ATV for that!. I need room for the kids and luggage for travelling.
I like the looks of the Mitsubishi XLS, price & warranty
Questions: what is the reliablity for the SUV’s, servicing at a dealership, ride quality on highway & long term re-sale?
I am going through the same search right now! Consumer Reports actually recommends the Outlander, and says that reliablility in its first year in the US has been ‘outstanding’. However, they also say that the ride is quite firm and that the interior fit and finish is just OK. You should check out what they have to say on the Outlander, plus the other cars you mention.
