airline travel blanket
What should I bring with me on an overnight flight?

I'm taking American Airlines from New York City to Rome, Italy in a couple of days. Every time I travel, I always feel as if I'm lacking something. It's always either something like pillows, blankets, books, other entertainment, etc. Can someone please make me a list of things that might be helpful? I'm trying to make a list of things I may need to buy or find so I can start putting my carry-on bag together. Thanks. :]

List of things you'll possible NEED:
-toothbrush
-toothpaste
-hand sanitizer & hand wipes (germs are everywhere)
-gum (for some people, it hurts their ears when the planes take off, gum helps the ear popping be less painful)
-pillows
-a small blanket when taking a nap
-maybe a iPod/Mp3/Mp4 (not all planes provide music)
-slippers (shoes get really uncomfy)
-tissues (if you feel like a cold is coming on)
-a long novel (at least 300 pages or more, to keep you busy)
-some snacks and drinks (if the plane let's you)
-a laptop for e-mailing & internet
-some paper and pencils (when bored, you can draw)
-a portable Dvd Player & some DVDs (some planes don't have a good selection of movies)
-hair ties and elastics
-a warm sweater (if you're feeling cold)
-vaseline or chapstick
-hairbrush
-an extra pair of socks, underwear, shirts, pants...etc. (just in case)
-a reading light (in case they turn out the lights, but you don't feel sleepy)
